Introduction to Graphic Design and Art Direction for Young People
Work with professional Graphic Designers in an introduction to publication design over 3 weeks. We’ll delve into working with different kinds of paper, folds, and binding and how to get your ideas onto the page. You’ll make imagery for the books or magazines through an introduction to art direction by shooting photographs using lighting; trying camera effects and using coloured gels. You’ll also work with text to hone your typography skills, learning how to deal with text and image in a publication. By the end of three weeks you have a book or magazine you’ve bound, art directed and typeset yourself!
This workshop is for 14-16 year olds.
