MAKE:SHIFT:DO

Crafting Science Stories

11am—3pm

As part of the Crafts Council's Make:Shift:Do and Manchester Science Festival, Manchester Metropolitan University invite you to come for a day of making, playing and experimenting through materials, delivered through a collaborative workshop from colleagues from the Faculty of Education, Manchester School of Art and the Faculty of Science & Engineering.

The Wythenshawe Forum Centre and Wythenhawe Library will host this exciting event aimed at all ages which aims to bring science and creativity together in an accessible community workshop. Science and creativity are two important and valuable ways of observing, discovering and documenting our world around us. Science and creativity are often seen to be separate, and we see ourselves as good at either one or the other. This event will provide diverse activities mixing creativity with scientific experimentation and processes to facilitate a drawing of similarities between the disciplines. The workshops will be accessible and drop in, and we invite you to discover how creative or 'sciency' you are capable of being!

Make:Shift:Do is a nationwide programme of craft and innovation workshops taking place on 27 and 28 October 2017
