Explore Typography and History in the City.

Kamila Kasperowicz, has created unique 'Manchester Alphabet'. Using genuine Manchester characters found on the streets she's introducing viewers to incredible world of letterforms through our heritage.

"Inspired by the multiplicity and diversity of typefaces which can be found in cities, this project aims to create a guide to typography in the City of Manchester locating various sites on a map of the city centre, says Kamila.

As the project is inspired by the typography which accompanies people every day lives for centuries, a history of the buildings where particular characters were found is an integral part of the project.

"It is hoped this will stimulate interest in the phenomenon of Typography in Manchester, and the project could be broadened across other cities and countries in the future", explains author.
