Throughout my past experience I have been intrigued by the value offered by the past in providing lessons for the future, which is demonstrated most evidently in the field of Architecture. I have accordingly spent my career in reflecting past forms of design by blending classical and modern styles in developing appealing residential developments. This was reflected throughout my work as a senior architect in charge of design projects that extended from single houses and palaces to complete master developments and gated communities. I have accordingly expedited this passion through my MA studies where the field of my research focused on bringing back the past vernacular treatments to use within the contemporary form adopted within the Gulf Region.

My research emphasized the past treatments that were characteristic to the Arabian house, whether through courtyards, win-towers or other means that aided in the passive cooling of traditional homes in regions with harsh and arid climate. My aim is to work on sustainable design solutions that address the current environmental conditions in a manner that respects the heritage and history of the concerned locality.
