The 'Antwerp Mansion' is a music/arts venue that thrives on grass roots support and holds the reputation of being one of the most alternative creative hubs in Manchester. This is a place created for creative people by creative people. As general manager of this venue I am able to immerse myself in an amazing creative community with no limit to its diversity. A project emerged with the aim of creating not only a revealing portrait of each individual and each intimate process, but also of this community as a whole. This touches on certain themes of creativity, isolation and identity. I am also very interested in mysterious and transitional period of twilight when most of my work is done. These 3 images are out of a larger series, and one of them is of a fellow Mansioneer to show a glimpse as well of what it is like to be part of the Mansion. Finally my work revolves around a long exposure technique allowing me to link people and objects through a surreal form of presentation. This parallels the strange and beautifully mysterious world of creativity I seem to call my everyday life…
