Bring People To The Energy
My work has been investigating whether it is possible to utilise the energy on our doorstep. Barrow-in-Furness, once the 'Energy hub of the North-West', has huge potential to be a prime spot for renewable energy production as it has so many natural resources.
This project is a proposal for the local people of Barrow to reap the benefits of locally sourced and locally managed power.
I have chosen a few rows of terraced houses within the dense urban fabric of Barrow to create a sustainable, interactive community.
The main theme on site will be producing energy by recycling water. I will be implementing several different systems on site which will use water in different ways. This is designed to lower the cost of living, supply jobs to the residents of the community and provide much needed green recreation space to the neighbourhood.
