MA Textiles for Fashion

‘A QUESTIONING OF AESTHETICS. AN INTEREST BORN FROM OBSERVING THE SMALL, MUNDANE AND OVERLOOKED. A DESIRE TO FIND BEAUTY IN THE NEGATIVE AND BECOME A RALLIER FOR UNCOVERING THE POSITIVE. AN EXPLORATION INTO HOW ONE WORD CAN HOLD MANY CONNOTATIONS ACROSS MULTIPLE CONCEPTUAL PLATFORMS AND HOW I CAN INTERPRET THEM FOR FASHION RELATED PURPOSES.’

Stain: I explore the ways in which I connect the word ‘stain’ to the world around me, as pre-conceptions are stripped away to uncover anything from the freckle on your back to the swirl of jam in your porridge. An abstract narrative is formed through photography, print design and poetic language aimed to inspire, encourage creativity and harness a curious mind.
