MA Fashion: Womenswear

My MA work has been focused on using local culture and history as inspiration for a collection.  The workwear of women in the Industrial Revolution in Manchester has been my primary source of inspiration in both construction and visualisation of my clothes.

I have also explored opposing themes of glamour and utility, masculine and feminine, old and new in my work to create simple, elegant, functional garments.  My primary practice of pattern cutting has allowed me to experiment with construction, form and silhouettes. Experimenting with fabrics has allowed me to change the functionality and aesthetic value of the garments.
