2nd Annual YOMP Inter-Faculty Challenge

STUDENT entrepreneurs will be pitting their business wits against each other at the 2nd Annual YOMP University Challenge next month.

Teams of undergraduates square up for the Inter-Faculty contest at Hollings on December 1.

There will be prizes for the best team and the best individual Yompers and all participants will enhance their CV and be able to network with business contacts.

Yomping is a business strategy game which is highly interactive and regarded by students as a great way to learn and fun! Any student hoping to go into management, project management, run their own business or go freelance after graduation are recommended to participate.

Make a profit

Each team will develop, plan and present a business strategy for the business-scenario they are given at the start of the day. They will be expected to show how to make that idea profitable and viable and make key decisions that will affect the chances of success.

Successful entrepreneurs who include a restaurateur, property developer, manufacturer and a telecoms boss will be on hand to offer advice. Teams will then put their pitch to the judges in a Dragon’s Den style scenario.

The 1st Yomping Challenge was won a by team from Hollings Faculty, home of food science, clothing design technology and consumer, tourism and hospitality management.

The day will start at 9.00am. Dress code is smart casual and all the materials will be supplied for you on the day. Refreshments including lunch will also be available.
