Student named in Top 100 Voices

JSoc chair youngest in poll

BUSINESS School student Jessica Truman has been named as one of the influential voices in the UK Jewish community.

Only 21, she is the youngest entrant in the top 100 Most Powerful Voices list voted by the newspaper The Jewish Chronicle.

The final-year International Business student is the new chair of the UK Jewish Students Society. A former Manchester Jewish Society chair, Jessica has been a NUS delegate, vice-chair of Student Council and anti-racism officer at MMU Students’ Union.

Relevant

As UJS chair she intends to strengthen Israel advocacy and to increase membership, particularly among Liberal and reform students.

She told the Chronicle: "I don’t think there has been a time when the UJS has been more relevant."

Jessica Truman is 69th in the Top 100, two places behind Lord Rothschild and one spot ahead of Howard Jacobsen.
