Students praise 'great' MMU resources

National Student Survey 2007

MMU’s learning resources are among the best in the country, according to a major student survey.

Electronic libraries, cutting-edge Web CT and universal WiFi are just some of our stand out facilities as MMU learning becomes increasingly anytime, anyplace.

82% of students agreed or strongly agreed that the University’s learning resources were excellent in a poll conducted by Ipsos UK for the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Around 3,000 MMU students contributed their views to the official survey.

MMU’s latest resource is a £500,000 European and Asian languages suite with interpreting facilities and multi-channel satellite link using a state-of-the-art infra red system. The stunning ‘lounge’ is designed around student-centred learning with informal seating areas.

Other fantastic facilities include:

    • Lecture theatres in science and engineering and law and humanities display some of the most advanced audio-visual features in higher education and have been praised by disabled students, in particular.
    • The virtual learning environment accessed by 29,000 students which allows access to study material, lectures and information via PCs and mobile hardware.
    • New science laboratories enable students to follow experiments and audio visuals on individual LCD screens and CCTV in the behavioural sciences laboratory enables remote viewing of animal and insect behaviour.
