Six Art and Design graduates, including three current MMU artists-in-residence, are taking part in a group show at The Cube Gallery on Portland Street in Manchester.

The exhibition, being held in conjunction with two other Manchester artists, is called EIGHT and runs until Wednesday 19th December 2007. The gallery will showcase a selection of recent work and projects developed by the eight artists, all of whom are on the Design Initiative’s Setting Up Scheme.

The Setting Up Scheme helps artists’ bridge the gap between the world of art and the creative marketplace. EIGHT is part of Make Me, an annual series of selling and promotional events featuring creatives from the North West of England.

The six MMU artists and designers exhibiting at EIGHT are Jane Blease (3D Design), Jessica Emmett (Photography), Audrey Hayes (3D Design), Kate Jessop (Illustration and Animation), Miranda Meilleur (3D Design) and Jessica Williams (Embroidery). Their work encompasses contemporary art, moving image, photography, fashion, metal work and 3D design.

Entrance to The Cube Gallery is free and it is open Monday to Friday 12-5.30pm and Saturday 12-5pm.
