Finance chief addresses students

Britannia boss at MMUBS

NEVILLE Richardson, the chief executive of Britannia, the UK’s second largest building society, will speak to students on a visit to MMU.

Mr Richardson, who heads up the £40 billion finance giant, is coming to MMU Business School on Monday, March 3 where he will speak about the credit crunch and other key developments in his reflection on the past year.

He will explain how risk has changed over the past 12 months and in particular how the globalisation of financial services has affected not only the building societies and banks but the UK financial system in general.

The head of the Leek-based mutual society will also talk about employment opportunities in the financial sector.

Clive Richardson, a lecturer in finance at MMUBS who organised the visit, said: "A career in financial services is increasingly attractive to graduates, particularly as the sector is on the up in Manchester and the North West."

The guest lecture will take place on Monday, March 3 at 2pm in Room 310.
