Employability & Enterprise
I developed the vision, strategy and operational plan for Marketplace Studios, Stockport which supports 20+ new creative enterprises/businesses. I devise and deliver the business support strategy which provides advice, training & mentorship tailored towards the Creative Industries. I deliver a rolling programme of exhibitions and creative workshop programmes for the general public and with an Outreach focus. I have also set up an education-led retail space which provides training and support towards developing retail products which are then sold in the shop space.
Corner/Shop is an employability and enterprise project space at Number 70, Oxford Road and is part of Manchester Metropolitan University. The space gives the opportunity for students and graduates from the Faculty of Arts & Humanities to develop their creative ideas into products for sale directly to the public, with mentoring and support.
Corner/Shop is an employability and enterprise project providing retail space for creative students and graduates to develop their products to a professional standard, translating their creative practice into a viable business.
Most new enterprises fail within their first three years, so Corner/Shop provides not just an opportunity to develop studentsí small businesses after graduation but delivers the support, advice and opportunities to get graduates' careers off the ground. Corner/shop no70 is the sister project to Market/place Studios, Stockport.
