A Life in Pieces by David Shirley
Commissioned by the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, A Life in Pieces explores both the insights and contradictions that became apparent in the various TV and Radio interviews Burgess gave between the mid 1960s and the early 1990s. Highlighting his love of language and literature and his complex relationship to religion, this new play affords a fascinating glimpse into the life of one of the 20th Century's most prolific and versatile writers.
And just what would be his luxury item on a desert island?
Written and directed by David Shirley, who also plays Anthony Burgess, the production features Lucas Smith as Roy Plomley.
