Technical Officer, Metal

Email: glenn.jones@mmu.ac.uk

Telephone: 0161 247 1949

Location: Chatham Building

During his early working years, Glenn had the opportunity of working to a high standard with a large range of mediums including wood, metal, acrylics, GRP, vinyl and paint. After his first job as a Cabinet Maker he spent a few years working as a Sign Maker, honing an already keen eye for detail.

Through an active interest in rock climbing, he was involved in helping to set up Manchester Climbing Centre, which led to the position of Centre Manager. After leaving this position, at what had become an established and successful climbing centre, he was asked to help design, build and manage Cardiff's first dedicated climbing centre. With strong construction skills, he was given the chance to relocate to the stunning surroundings of Snowdonia National Park to build and design climbing walls full time.

After 5 years of living in a very rural location, the time seemed right to move back to Manchester, the area where he was born and raised. Deciding to take a fresh start, Glenn happily accepted the position of Technician within the Manchester School Of Art.
