Telephone: 0161 247 1926

Location: Chatham Building

Leighton graduated in 2005 with a BSc (Hons) in Film Production Technology from Staffordshire University.

From an early age Leighton had a fascination and avid interest in film production, making his first 'short' at the age of 12 and he always knew that he would follow a career path within this discipline.

He joined Manchester High School for Girls in 2007 as a Reprographic and AV Technician. He was quickly promoted to the Media Manager post where he was responsible for setting up and managing the Media Department to cater for the Schools growing video production, graphic design, digital print and reprographic requirements.

As well as managing various frontline services, Leighton was also responsible for the School's entire creative video output and much of it's design requirements. Creating anything from promotional video products, music video's through to historical documentaries on the video side and designing anything from adverts, prospectuses, brochures and even stationery & branded consumables, the Department quickly became a huge success.

After 5 years service at MHSG, Leighton spotted an opportunity to join the team at Manchester Metropolitan University as a Technical Officer in Media. Leighton felt it was the perfect role for him to put to use his knowledge and experience in the fields of video production and post-production.

Leighton continues to keep his finger on the pulse by freelancing in his spare time and has worked on various video products for clients such as the Royal Northern College of Music and Chethams School of Music.
