DESIGNING FOR SUSTAINABILITY RESEARCH GROUP, 2000 – 2003: I organised the first annual 'Designing for Sustainability' evening lecture series: speakers include Visiting Professor in Sustainable Design, Stuart Walker, Dominic Cole, and Dorothy Mackenzie. Companies and organisations such as Body Shop International, Interface Europe and WRAP also contributed. The lecture series received external sponsorship from the RSA, Design Council, the Design Research Society and the Ecological Design Association.

EXPLORATION OF SMALL PROJECTS IN THE ARCHITECTURAL PRACTICE, 1998 (INCOME £5,000): Interview based research and analysis with Judi Farren Bradley, funded by the RIBA, investigating the process of small projects within small, medium and large architectural practices.

Whilst at Kingston School of Architecture and Landscape I actively engaged in a wider forum outside of the immediate school.
_Member of the steering committee for 'Educators for Sustainable Architecture': a national group researching the pedagogy of sustainability teaching, 2002 - 2003.
_Special Interest Group (SIG) member of the Centre for Education for the Built Environment (CEBE) review of 'sustainability and architectural education' in light of new RIBA/Arb criteria, 2001 – 2003.
_Preparation of material for the Stansfield Smith review of architectural education in the subject areas of Part III, professional practice and CPD, funded by the RIBA, 1998.
_Member of the RIBA/ARB Joint Validation Panel: visited Canterbury, Portsmouth and North London Schools of Architecture, 1996 – 1998.
