The performance and exhibition 'Notes for a Performance - (Re) visioning a Smoky Meeting' is the culmination of a four-month artist residency at the Tetley Centre for Contemporary Art in Leeds. Working with the Tetley's industrial archive (located in-house and at West Yorkshire Archives, Leeds) the residency was concerned with imagining the past and how cinematic language informs our understanding of it. The aim of the residency was to develop performative works concerned with unknown and unverified histories identified in the archive, focusing on the Tetley building and its business history in conjunction with the (newer) cultural institution.

Accompanying the exhibition was a publication presenting a compendium of research material from the Tetley's archive alongside the performance script, performance documentation and selected photographic works from the archive. In addition the publication includes commissioned texts, 'Winston is for Real' by artist Pavel Büchler and 'A Smoky Meeting - an Intervention in a Heritage Site' by artist Nick Cass.
