Adriano DiGaudio

Professional Practice Support Manager

I returned to Higher Education as a mature student to pursue a BA Hons in Interactive Art after years of working as a Project Manager within Mental Health. So struck with the School, its philosophy, community and brand, I decided to stay.

My personal practice explores the relationships between Audience and Artist and culminates in community driven projects or ‘objects and interventions’ that respond to this exploration. Through my practice I have been involved with numerous projects within different roles and as a result my expertise lies in production which slips into curatorial practice.

During my time at the Art School I have been lucky enough to combine my personal practice with my work, allowing me to bring my expertise and develop it further to suit the needs of the University; through working in collaboration with so many established colleagues. Its important I acknowledge that working with the students also provides me the opportunity for reflection and to refine my practice; the School is a great place for exchange, discussion and collaboration.

My role supports the professionalisation of the student’s practice. Within this falls the responsibility of Project Managing; Unit X, The Degree Show (Benzie Vertical Gallery) and The Postgraduate Show. Additionally, I develop series/programmes of talks, workshops and projects to create dialogue between current Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD Students, Industry Experts, Practitioners, Organisations and Alumni.
