AZ.andreazapp is a womenswear and accessories fashion brand that is built on Zapp’s distinct photography. It provides the continuum for designs with unaltered photo-real imagery carefully mapped onto patterns, creating innovative fabric textures and garment shapes. The creative thinking process is often stimulated by contemporary aesthetics attributed to architecture or modernist art and design. The brand launched as a spin-out and limited company in June 2014. In a proof of concept stage trademark and visual brand identity have been established; plus a launch collection that is build on a UK based external production chain in the textile industry. The collection has since been retailed in the international market and was exhibited at major fashion events with international media coverage and with government support from UK Trade and Investment. AZ. has also been realising a range of limited edition collections with partners in the creative industries.
Currently more research into the future of fashion and technologies is in progress investigating the potential of future smart fabrics for design purposes and new visual concepts in fashion and design.
Showcased in major international Fashion Weeks (Paris, London, Singapore) as a result of innovative profile. Economic impact by retailing with Selfridges, Hello! Magazine online retail platform, Gnossem store Singapore, regional museum stores and independents in the UK. Limited editions designed for retail with Manchester Art Gallery, Whitworth Gallery Manchester, Macclesfield Silk Museum and Marketing Manchester (presenters outfits for MIPIM International, Cannes, France). Providing platform for internships and free lance jobs for graduates.
