Hand stitch Perspectives

A companion volume to 'Machine Stitch Perspectives' published by Bloomsbury in 2012 jointly with Alice kettle. The book features chapters on Hand stitch not just as a craft technique but from different artist, designers, educators and historians perspectives to give a sense of the impact of stitch on a broader cultural practice. Chapter contributions are from 7 MMU Textiles academics and a number of external experts in the field.

The book was launched in Autumn 2012 with accompanying exhibitions at the Knitting and stitching show in London, Dublin and Harrogate, and in Paris at L'Aguille en Fete.
