Dr Martin Blain

Reader
Music and Sound for Media

As a composer-researcher my work is divided into three discrete areas: compositional practice (development of concert works, music theatre and electronic music); Laptop ensemble performance practice (currently exploring notions of 'liveness' through the work of MMUle (Manchester Metropolitan University laptop ensemble); and developing practice-as-research methodologies within music composition and performance (developing appropriate PaR methods to disseminate research insights from my practice).
