Research / Teaching and Learning Interests

I have many years of experience within H.E 'Teaching TEAMS - and of writing curriculum design within Arts education.
Research Interests:

The subject of Objects and Memory, Phenomenology, experience and Myth are intrinsic to my research and aimed specifically at the relationships between Society, People, Habitat, Text and Image and aimed at driving new research and content for my own visual practice and innovative teaching curricula, and insights into 'Authorial Design'

Research aims: New methodologies in TEACHING and LEARNING curriculum within the context of Visual Communication and Drawing

I have developed innovative 'Evaluative and Reflective' writing for Learners at Degree and Masters Levels in Visual Communications and advised on BA Art & Design Programmes / recent ILLUSTRATION validations for Leeds Metropolitan Camberwell, UAL and Plymouth University, and Faculty reviews in the UK and Europe.

Drawing and the phenomena and fiction of habitat and histories have underpinned much of my own research activity. Also Prose / Text and Image.
Further details on my research and project links are on this staff page

My own studio work has been shortlisted and selected for the Jerwood Drawing Prize, formerly The Cheltenham Open Drawing Exhibition and also for 'Young Contemporaries' at the ICA and The South bank Open at the The Royal Festival Hall. I have exhibited widely at home and abroad most recently at the touring HAY festival.

I have consulted and contributed for various Illustration journals and annuals
