Guest Lecture : MACK MANNING M.A RCA

working across a range of media Manning studied at the Royal College, specialising in ecological cultural, contextual and visual research . Describing the focus of his work he has said, “I am interested in how language can express mythical and personal relationship with Landscape and habitat and how we attach a strong identity with the spaces and places we pass through and inhabit”.

Manning is also an experienced creative - working with Penguin Books, Pan Macmillan and Random House in London - and magazines The Sunday Times, The Observer and Sunday Telegraph. His professional work included commissions from a range of such organisations as Friends Of the Earth, The United Nations, The Independent and the BBC. His work was shortlisted for the Jerwood Prize in 2007/8.

He has lectured at numerous institutions nationally and internationally, including Cambridge and Emily Carr, Vancouver. He was Programme Leader in the Humanities Department at Manchester and External Examiner for UAL Camberwell and for Birmingham City University¹s Interdisciplinary BA
