Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

A collaborative project with Hazel Jones (metalworker) and Manchester Art Gallery. The project is an Investigation and artist response to the artefacts and archival material of the Mary Greg Collection of Handicrafts of Bygone Times.

The project addresses the question of the value of stored collections and explores the multiple meanings and uses of historical collections within the contemporary museum and gallery. The project culminates in Autumn 2011 through a physical display of objects from the collection alongside new works made by the artists and other associated material at Platt Hall Museum of Costume.
