The Secret Life of Textiles: Six Pattern Book Archives in North West England

This book presents the results of groundbreaking research in six regional holdings of textile pattern books, with the aim of making these sources more widely known and accessible. Brief summaries of forty-eight archive groups are illustrated by more than 250 colour photographs, most seen for the first time. Short essays set the archives in the context of industrial textile design, production and trade, with a particular emphasis on the North West region.
