Over two weeks in October, Europe’s finest crafts fair brings together designer-makers from a broad range of disciplines to exhibit quality contemporary design and craft. Presented by the Crafts Council, Chelsea Crafts Fair celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2004. Over the last quarter century it has become a key event in the calendar of contemporary design and crafts and a symbol of the important role, which the crafts now play on the cultural scene.
Selected by an expert panel from nearly 900 applications, the exhibition covers a wide spectrum of disciplines including textiles and fashion accessories, jewellery of all styles and materials, sculptural and tableware ceramics, blown and kiln formed glass and turned and carved wood.
Chelsea Crafts Fair is both a seedbed for future makers and a showcase for established craftspeople.
