In 2018, The Lincoln Company presented over 100 performances of Sit with us for a moment and remember at the Edinburgh Fringe. This Short discusses the process of co-creating the piece, exploring commemoration, memory and loss and enabling audience and performer to engage in 'A brief encounter that is both sweet and sorrowful' (The Guardian). Baynton and Pinchbeck address 'staging' site-specific one-on-one performance in public spaces to ask how these works, including Sit with us..., activate a space in which performer and audience can co-create an experience. The Short explores how one-on-one performance generates 'response-ability' in its audience.
