Talk #101

Danny Cookney

Dr Danny Cookney is an educator, designer and researcher. His transdisciplinary output has predominantly been organised around the intersections of sound and image including visual identity as it relates to and is applied to music outputs. This has included his engagement with record cover design, music video and portrait photography - mainly for musicians/producers involved in areas of electronic music/dance music. A further area of exploration has been around graphic design and political ideas: from his investigating of right-wing propaganda through to protest aesthetics. This interest has resulted in articles for publications plus the curation of an exhibition at the People’s History Museum that marked 200 years since the Peterloo Massacre. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Creative Digital Design in SODA.
