Henry Ward

Henry Ward studied for a degree in Painting at Winchester School of Art at the beginning of the 1990s and went on to further study at Goldsmiths and then a PhD at Middlesex University, focusing on Teaching as an Artistic Practice. He has worked extensively in art education and in a variety of contexts, including schools, art schools and cultural institutions. Alongside his practice as a painter he is the Creative Director of Freelands Foundation, a charity that supports artists and art education. He has shown widely for over 25 years and is currently represented by Aleph Contemporary, London with whom he had a solo exhibition, “Baffle”, in 2021 and will shortly be appearing in a two-person exhibition, “Lost in Abstraction 1, 2, 3” curated by Alistair Hicks with the painter Mark Wright.
