7. The Fielden Project: 2014

Todmorden Unitarian Church / United Chapel Trust, Artists’ collaborative group exhibition and artists’ talks. Eight artists from the Calder Valley worked in response to this landmark site in the valley town, producing a range of diverse works, from sound, photography, writing, sculpture, drawing to sound and performance. Eleanor's response took the form of a series of miniature busts press-cast from found Victorian porcelain figures, using the restricted materials of paper and water. The piece was inspired by the personal narratives of child cotton mill workers and the work of John Fielden, to secure the 10 Hours Factory Act in the UK. Exhibition was shown In tandem with the 100 day Cultural Festival of Yorkshire), May-June 2014.
