Jenny Eden
Senior Lecturer in Fine Art (Painting)
Jenny Eden's research is situated in the field of contemporary painting and explores the medium’s psychological and ontological capacity in the context of the unique painter-painting relationship. It brings together new paintings with writing about the painting process, associated theory and other practices, and curatorial activity at Oceans Apart (a gallery dedicated to contemporary painting in Salford), to investigate current themes within international contemporary painting.
Jenny’s part-time By Practice PhD, with a working title ‘Process and Relational Dynamics in Painting and Writing’, is due for completion in October 2023 and will comprise a thesis and exhibition of work. Connected and other projects / outputs are detailed below as a list of exhibitions, publications and conferences. Jenny is currently developing her Research Profile within the Department of Art and Performance, with Core Membership of the Manchester School of Art Research Centre (MSARC).
