Patience is an audio-visual collaborative experiment between Lois MacDonald and Adam Cain. It is an exploration into human identity and reimagined future narratives. Central to its thematic core is the elusive concept of the singularity--a nebulous juncture fraught with possibilities, and the potential to propel us toward a future imbued with transhumanist ideologies. The visuals of this piece were created using a range of generative art processes that delve into the nuanced interplay that exists between the realms of nature, humanity, and technology. Within this prospective temporal landscape, humanity finds itself on the cusp of a transformative phase, one wherein the very essence of our existence is destined to be rewoven into a tapestry of interconnectedness, seamlessly knitting individual human entities into the fabric of a unified bionic entity. The audio is composed with curated outputs from SampleRNN trained on Lois' voice. The sounds oscillate the boundary between human and the other, simultaneously haunting us in the present, echoing ritualistic cries to our primal ancestors, and projecting the anxiety of a future to be determined. Ultimately, the beings we are presented with are tortured souls with no place in time to call home.
