Our response is structured around two key themes that emerged across multiple commentaries. First, we explore the need for a model that acknowledges the inherent complexity, uncertainty, and subjectivity of research processes, challenging the often superficial claims of objectivity associated with scientific inquiry made by designers and architects. Second, we reflect on the fundamental role of conversations in shaping research trajectories - particularly that of the first author - emphasizing the collaborative and dialogical nature of knowledge production. By expanding on these themes, we advocate for a more nuanced and transparent approach to research reporting - one that embraces the messiness of inquiry while remaining critically aware of the philosophical, ethical, and institutional factors that shape the way research is done and reported.
