Here, West documents the complex intersection of art, culture and community in contemporary West Cumbria, challenging audiences to reconsider what constitutes a valuable cultural experience.

Drawing upon the experiences of community members, local artists and participants in Everyone Here's Jury for Joy, the installation celebrates the rugged honesty and determination of this unique landscape and the people who call it home. Exploring the complicated relationship between access and appetite, this dual screen audio visual work confronts the realities of arts funding, exposure and evaluation.

Here, West is a reflection on a diverse and often deeply misunderstood area, asking everyone, here, or there; when a community creates its own authentic experiences, who gets to decide what it is worth and if anything needs to change?
