Great British Allotments at 2013 RHS Flower Show

Art School Allotment
This allotment aimed to reflect the ingenuity, creativity and invention employed by all allotment holders when they create their vegetable patch. The staff at Manchester School of Art have created the contents, with each maker choosing a specific archetypical item found on an allotment. The materials utilised to make vegetables or practical objects include glass, wood, fabric, paper and ceramics. Each maker has brought their own interest, creativity and skill to their work, much like allotment holders everywhere. The curators have then placed, hung and organised these into their own form of a classic British allotment.
