In an age of live data and new media, curators Ahmed & Carpenter and Rachel Boon (Science Museum) examine the history of amateur astronomy, mechanical models and orbiting entities. Work by Dave Griffiths, Antony Hall and Tom Railton shows alongside, and as a response to, archival material from Manchester Astronomical Society.
Located on floor 4 of Rogue Artists' Studios (the largest studio group in the North West), Rogue Project Space is coordinated by artist/curators Ahmed & Carpenter. Their 2013 programme, Free Failing, is a series of exhibitions as artworks exploring themes of trying, failing, collaboration and performance. They provide emerging artists with a platform to play and experiment, without the emphasis on a slick exhibition resolve.
