A Participative Design Event at Stretford Public Hall in response to UA92 with 24 students, local residents, key stakeholders from Stretford Public Hall and Year 8 ambassadors from Stretford Grammar School. MSA Praxis is a third year atelier led by Helen Aston and Stephen Mccusker at Manchester School of Architecture and working in collaboration with Loop Systems (Architects in residence at Stretford Public Hall). We have been working as a participative design studio Manchester School of Architecture for the last 11 years with undergraduate and postgraduate students working on live projects throughout Greater Manchester and further afield in Greece, Ghana and Kenya.
This engagement event at Stretford Public Hall with 24 students and key stakeholders from Stretford Public Hall alongside 12 year 8 ambassadors from Stretford Grammar School. This event is not about asking questions of what does Stretford want (this has been done many times before with little action) but an event using participative design methods to develop responsive proposals raised in a public meeting about UA92 held on 24th September at the Hall - issues being considered are the Essoldo, the Library, Housing, Public Realm, Transport and additional essential Community Assets.
