When asked to project our voices, we hope that
someone will hear us. Or more accurately,
we hope that someone will listen. And listen they
have, or at least to grant a stay of execution, in a
continuing drama currently playing out in Manchester
Metropolitan University (MMU). This article reviews the continuing negotiation for the preservation of a unique collection and rare genes of library, the largest example still in existence in the UK.
