Professor John Hyatt
Fist of Grass: can history painting be made in 2015?
Professor John Hyatt will be talking about his new collaborative research sparked by the centenary of the Easter Rising in Ireland in the context of 30 years of his research as an artist and musician. The work is very much ‘in the making’ and investigates the spaces between notions of a revolutionary and a terrorist; the personal and the political; Romanticism and revolution; history and representation amongst other questions.
Part of the ASK (Art Seeks Knowledge) Open Lecture Series by Professors and visiting Professors at the Manchester School of Art.
All are welcome to these open talks, which offer a snapshot of the breadth and depth of some of our research and practice at the cutting edge of our disciplines.
Admission is free, but please book your ticket online.
