The Plaque Prize

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: The Plaque Prize

2 February 2021

We are looking for proposals that responds to these concepts of transition and change.

The Plaque Prize is an annual open call for Manchester School of Art students to propose a work which is designed to fit in the now-vacant frame (pictured here previous winning work by Rebecca Howard), and this year's winning artwork will be on show for the duration of the year.

2020 was a significant year in many ways that required us to: alter, adjust, adapt, amend, improve, change, convert, revise, reform, reshape, rework, reconstruct, refine, vary, transform, metamorphose, evolve.

  • The proposed work needs to fit the frame dimensions which are; 54cm height x 57cm width x 2cm depth
  • A detailed description of what the work is, and preparatory sketches or example images of your practice
  • Any material costs required to realise the final piece

Please send proposals to Zoe Watson at z.watson@mmu.ac.uk, Curator of the Holden Gallery.
