Inspirational ideas go on show today at Manchester’s biggest free art exhibition!

Fresh creative work from the next generation of artists can be seen at MMU’s highly-rated Art and Design Degree Show 2007, June 16 – 24.

Undergraduates from the School of Art and the School of Design show their final-year paintings, sculptures, installations, ceramics and an array of other work.

MMU graduates are among the most innovative in the UK and past students include Thomas Heatherwick, Sam Taylor-Wood and Peter Saville.

1,000 artists

Visitors over the ten day-show can peruse photography, video, animation, fashion, textiles, embroidery, graphic art, illustration, furniture, lighting, jewellery and architecture from more than 1,000 students - and maybe pick up a bargain!

Particularly popular is the work on the Interactive Arts course which promotes radical creativity in the vein of Damien Hirst. Check out Melanie Warner's 'When Painting Goes too Far' and Catriona Fenwick's edible dresses!

Shows take place daily from 10-6 at weekdays and 10-4 weekends at the All Saints Campus on Oxford Road.

All shows are free and open to the public, except the Private View, Friday, June 15, 6-10pm.
