National awards in film and video

..and six finalists at Cornerhouse festival

MMU film and video students have won yet more awards and a host of nominations.

Lucy Elliot and Debbie Steer 2006 graduates from the BA Contemporary Film and Video scooped Best Student Film and Audience Favourite at the Cinematic Film Festival, Birmingham.

Their film Grandma & The Monster is a compelling and very stylishly shot short described by Britfilms as "a masterpiece of surrealism and entertainment".

2007 graduates Ben Shelbourne and Sam Winston have been selected for this year's Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival for their works Kingdom Come and Future Shock Wrestling.

Six films from current students on the course have been selected for the Exposures National Student Film Festival at Manchester's very own Cornerhouse.

The films are:

  • Extracurricular Activities -Sophie Agnew, Connie Jaggard & Chris Butler
  • Drip - Jocelyne Holden
  • Telepathy - Flynn Eccles
  • Clear I Me - Ben Lycett
  • Kingdom Come - Ben Shelbourne
  • Peripety - Ben Lycett
