Art history comes to MMU

Manchester hosts world's most prestigious conference.

MANCHESTER Metropolitan is to host the world's most prestigious gathering of art historians.

The Annual Conference for The Association of Art Historians will attract more than 400 scholars and artists to the university from all over the world.

The event celebrates the creativity of the people working and researching in the world of arts, focusing on the intersections of art history with different disciplinary, methodical, political and historical spaces.

Dr Patricia Allmer, a research fellow in art history, said: "This is the most prestigious event of its kind in the art history academic calendar and will help MMU art researchers gain recognition for their work."

Staff and students are able to send in session proposals to be included in the conference. More details about the proposals can be found at The Association of Art Historians website. http://www.aah.org.uk/future-conferences/index.php
